Spark App
Project Overview:
Spark is a dedicated app designed for mechanics at We Buy Any Car to streamline and simplify the vehicle inspection process. It replaces the traditional use of multiple Excel spreadsheets with a user-friendly, integrated platform.

Challenges:
1. Complexity of Data: Mechanics previously relied on cumbersome Excel sheets that were difficult to navigate and prone to error.
2. Visibility and Usability: The app needed to be accessible in various lighting conditions, especially low-light or outdoor environments.
3. Simplicity: To enhance efficiency, the app needed to allow mechanics to complete tasks with minimal taps and clear, large buttons and text.
4. Integration: Spark had to seamlessly connect with existing systems like Stock, Finance, and PPX to ensure a smooth workflow.
Solutions:
• Dark Mode Interface: Responding to mechanic feedback, we implemented a darker background to reduce eye strain and improve visibility.
• Streamlined Workflow: We minimised the number of steps required to complete tasks, ensuring that mechanics could finish their work in five taps or less.
• Accessibility: We focused on large, readable text and easily clickable buttons to avoid misclicks and ensure usability in challenging conditions.
• System Integration: Spark was designed to sync effortlessly with Stock, Finance, and PPX, creating a cohesive and efficient workflow.
Impact:
The Spark app significantly reduced the time mechanics spent on data entry and improved accuracy. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with mechanics noting enhanced comfort and efficiency.
Summary:
The Spark app was developed to enhance the efficiency and usability for mechanics. By incorporating a dark mode interface, streamlined workflows, and large, accessible elements, we significantly reduced complexity and improved overall user experience. The app integrates seamlessly with existing systems, ensuring a cohesive workflow.
